A Story of Grace, Growth, and Everything In Between

Welcome to Authored and Unfinished—a place where messy faith meets gentle grace.

“For years, I thought being a ‘good Christian’ meant having it all together. I was wrong.”

Hi, I’m Dorcas. I grew up in the church, memorized Bible verses, and did all the “right” things. But somewhere along the way, my faith became a checklist instead of a relationship. I felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and honestly—a little lost.

I struggled with perfectionism, comparison, and the constant pressure to prove I was “enough.” My prayer life felt dry. Reading the Bible felt like homework. And I was too afraid to admit any of it because I thought struggling meant I was failing.

It wasn’t until I hit a breaking point that I realized: God never asked me to be perfect. He just wanted me to be honest. To bring my doubts, my questions, my messy heart—and trust that His grace was bigger than all of it.

That’s when everything changed. I started pursuing faith not as a performance, but as a relationship. I learned to find God in the ordinary moments—not just the mountain-top experiences. And I discovered that grace isn’t just for when we “get it right”—it’s for every moment in between.

I started this blog because I know I’m not the only one who’s felt this way. If you’ve ever felt like you’re not “Christian enough,” this space is for you.
